With our unfortunate lack of preschool in our community, the Waterford Program is a great alternative to give your 4 year old a head start in preparation for kindergarten.

📣 Kenmare–Bowbells Honkers Activities 🗓 Week of January 12, 2026 Another busy winter week for our Honkers. Mark those calendars, pack the bleachers, and bring the noise. 🐴 Special Event: Donkey Basketball 📍 Bowbells Public School Gym 🗓 Saturday, January 17 🕢 7:30 PM Come watch local “celebrity” donkey jockeys try their hand (and balance!) at riding real, live donkeys. It’s high-energy, laugh-out-loud fun for all ages. Tickets available at Bowbells Public School. 🎟️

Donkey basketball is a little over a week away. If you are are participating you need to be at the gym by 6:30 pm. Free donkey ride passes will be sent home with students tomorrow, Friday. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Bowbells Student Council is sponsoring Donkey Basketball January 17, 2026 at 7:30 pm. We are looking for participants to play. You must be 16 years old and under 225 lbs. If interested contact Celeste Thingvold. There will free donkey rides for children 12 years and younger. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Preschool are free. Tickets can be purchased at the school office or online using the QR code on the flyer. This should be an exciting evening. Your child may see their teacher on the back of a donkey!!!

Due to the forecasted blizzard conditions, we will start school at 10 am tomorrow, December 18. Breakfast will not be served. We will reevaluate the conditions at daylight tomorrow. If we are not able to have school tomorrow, we will have a full day on Friday.

The weatherman is not predicting a favorable day for Thursday, so I have attached two different schedules for semester tests. If we are not able to have school on Thursday, we will be going a full day on Friday, otherwise we will dismiss at 1:00 on Friday for break.

There is basketball for 3rd through 6th grade in Kenmare on Sunday from 6:30 - 8:00 pm for anyone that is interested.

School board meeting moved to Wednesday, December 10 following the music concert.
